Shockwave/Acoustic Soundwave Therapy
Sound wave therapy – also known as extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) – is a quick, non-surgical, and painless treatment performed to stimulate regrowth of tissue. Low and high-frequency sound waves are used to cause microtrauma to the tissue under the skin, which stimulates the body’s natural healing process in the area.
Myofascial Release and Fascial Mobilization
Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. Also known as Graston, fascial mobilization involves a therapist “massaging” your skin with bladelike objects that do what your foam roller can’t, pressing the skin ultra-close to the fascia. That lets the therapist more directly affect this tissue.
Dry Needling
Dry Needling is a technique used by skilled practitioners to treat nerve, muscle and joint pain and muscle trigger points by inserting thin needles into specific points in the body. Research has shown that Dry Needling can help reduce muscle tension, relieve nerve symptoms, alleviate musculoskeletal pain, and improve range of motion by promoting a natural healing response in the body, promoting blood flow, and releasing natural endorphins in and around the targeted areas. Although Dry Needling is a very effective treatment in-and-of itself, it is only one part of a comprehensive whole-body and holistic treatment program.
Body Tempering
Body Tempering is a unique soft tissue treatment that involves applying deep and heavy pressure to muscles using weighted steel cylinders that are held statically on, or moved slowly along the length of a muscle. Body Tempering has been shown to improve soft tissue elasticity for load absorption, thus reducing the risk of soft tissue injury. It may also help reduce overloading of “Cinderella fibers” by improving the load tolerance/absorption of neighboring fibers, thereby reducing muscle fatigue and spasm.
